Hotel

The Old Rectory Hotel 01386 750570    Redditch, Worcestershire.

The Old Rectory has stood for over 500 years, though it was “modernised” in 1812 by the great-grandson of Sir Christopher Wren who lived in the house for 40 years.

The site itself is steeped in history; the Doomsday Book listed a building here, and along one boundary of the grounds runs the original Roman built Icknield Street.

Today the emphasis is on hospitality and creating a relaxed, warm atmosphere and memorable stay for guests. All of the comfortable bedrooms – one of which is reputedly haunted - differ in shape, size and décor, with some featuring exposed beams, and one with a barrel ceiling.

Dinner is served each night in the conservatory, and the restaurant prides itself on preparing everything possible on the premises from the freshest seasonal produce. Coffee and liqueurs may be enjoyed in the welcoming snug or lounge.
