An open plan, ground floor garden apartment in the wing of a country house on the banks of the River Blackwater. One can walk along the river to the centre of the historic town of Maldon which offers a good range of pubs and restaurants as well as individual shops and other facilities. Fishing from the garden is possible and canoeing on the adjoining canal. There are excellent golf courses within the surrounding area and great sailing on the Rivers Blackwater and Crouch. The property is situated in a tiny hamlet with no direct neighbours.

We are situated in a rural location 1.5 miles from the village of Clavering, a small arable and sheep farm on the Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire border, overlooking the Stort valley in an “Area of outstanding Natural Beauty”.

The surrounding area is typical of the North Essex rolling countryside with hedges, trees and fields growing mainly cereal crops.

There is a rich mixture of wildlife. Deer, Bats, Badgers and Foxes are often seen, as are most of the native nesting birds.

Using Eastland Meadows Country Park as your base, you will be able to fully explore the Essex countryside and enjoy the many local facilities, including walking, cycling and sailing to name but a few. In addition to these, there is a good choice of other recreational activities nearby, including golf and horse riding.

All Caravans and Lodges are sited on brand new concrete bases and have their own car parking bay, a patio and/or low level decking to enable you to enjoy and savour the delights of the natural countryside park. With plenty of space between the homes, the park ensures the peaceful ambience of the surrounding countryside is not spoilt when you are relaxing in your home. There are also large areas available for recreational purposes, making the park suitable for everybody, however you wish to utilise your time at Eastland Meadows.

The Gate House is a privately run guest house, adjacent to The Forest Gate Inn. It is situated on the edge of Epping Forest on Bell Common, just over ½ mile to Epping town centre and 1 mile from Epping Station [40 minutes to central London]. It is ideally situated for walkers with facilities to dry wet gear, and well centred for visiting Cambridge, Audley End and other places of interest. The house is totally No Smoking as well as having a full fire alarm system in place.

As well as a breakfast room there is a sitting room for the use of guests, with books, board games and information on the area.

The bedrooms are all decorated and furnished to a high standard all with en-suite facilities and flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities!

Pond House is a redbrick, Victorian farmhouse with a large garden consisting of herbaceous borders, a large pond and woodland area where guests may wander and relax. Pond Cottage is an annexe of Pond House. Great care has been taken to provide comfortable yet informal accommodation for guests staying in Pond House, for bed and breakfast and in Pond Cottage. Many little extras are provided and we try to provide for all your needs so you can relax and enjoy your stay.
